Ingredients
Scale
- 4 (6-8 ounce) Mahi Mahi Fillets, skinless
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, extra virgin
- 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Paprika, smoked or sweet
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly ground, or to taste
Instructions
- Pat the Mahi Mahi Dry: Use paper towels to thoroughly pat each fillet dry.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Marinate the Mahi Mahi: Place the mahi mahi fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring each fillet is evenly coated. Gently rub the marinade into the fish.
- Let it Marinate: Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush it with a little olive oil.
- Place the Mahi Mahi in the Air Fryer: Carefully place the marinated mahi mahi fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air Fry the Mahi Mahi: Air fry for 8-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Check for Doneness: The internal temperature of the mahi mahi should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Rest the Fish: Remove from the air fryer and let it rest for a minute or two before serving.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Patting the mahi mahi dry is crucial for achieving a nice sear in the air fryer.
- Don’t overcook the fish, as it can become dry. Check for doneness frequently.
- Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of the fillets and your air fryer.
- For a crispy crust, try coating the mahi mahi in breadcrumbs or panko before air frying.
- Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, salad, or potatoes.
- Consider serving with a lemon butter sauce, tartar sauce, or a mango salsa.
- Fresh fish will always taste better than frozen. If using frozen mahi mahi, thaw it completely before cooking. Pat it dry very well after thawing.
