  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This air-fried tilapia features tender fillets marinated in a zesty blend of olive oil, spices, and fresh lemon juice. Quick to prepare and packed with flavor, it’s a healthy and delicious option for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Taste the marinade and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  2. Place the tilapia fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the tilapia, ensuring that each fillet is well coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1 to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with olive oil.
  4. Remove the tilapia from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Place the fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Check for doneness by ensuring the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  5. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the cooked tilapia and serve immediately with lemon wedges. Pair with sides like steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
  6. Allow any leftovers to cool before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave.

Notes

  • Adjust the marinade ingredients to suit your taste preferences.
  • Ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
  • Leftovers can be reheated but may lose some texture.
