Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (1 lb) of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 8 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup of Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the package of refrigerated crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean, flat surface, creating a large rectangle of dough divided into triangles.
- Pinch the seams of the dough triangles together to create a solid sheet.
- Lay the slices of deli ham evenly over the dough, covering the entire surface with a small border around the edges.
- Layer the Swiss cheese slices over the ham, slightly overlapping them.
- In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Spread this mixture evenly over the cheese layer.
- Starting from the wide end of the triangle, roll the dough tightly towards the pointed end.
- Pinch the ends to seal the dough and repeat for all triangles until you have 8 rolls.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and poppy seeds (if using).
- Place the rolled ham and cheese rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each roll.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the melted butter and poppy seed mixture.
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Monitor the rolls during the last few minutes to prevent over-browning; cover loosely with aluminum foil if necessary.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
- Transfer the rolls to a serving platter and serve warm or at room temperature.
- Drizzle additional melted butter over the top before serving for extra flavor.
- Store any leftover rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, wrapped in plastic wrap for freshness.
- To reheat, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), place the rolls on a baking sheet, cover loosely with aluminum foil, and heat for about 10-15 minutes.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite meats or cheeses.
- For a spicier kick, consider adding sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the mustard mixture.
