Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mixed salad greens (e.g., romaine, spinach, arugula)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  3. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat, ensuring it’s clean and lightly oiled.
  4. Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
  5. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer for well-done. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (160°F for ground beef).
  6. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
  7. Remove the patties from heat and let them rest while preparing the salad.
  8. In a large salad bowl, add the mixed salad greens.
  9. Add halved cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, shredded cheddar cheese, thinly sliced red onion, and sliced avocado. Toss gently.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  11. Place a generous portion of the salad mixture in the center of each serving bowl.
  12. Top with a cooked beef patty.
  13. Arrange sliced pickles around the patty.
  14. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and patty, or serve on the side.
  15. Garnish with additional avocado slices or extra cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Customize your burger bowl with additional toppings like crispy bacon, jalapeños, or sautéed mushrooms.
  • This dish is best served immediately while the patties are warm.
