Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mixed salad greens (e.g., romaine, spinach, arugula)
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup cucumber, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat, ensuring it’s clean and lightly oiled.
- Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
- Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer for well-done. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (160°F for ground beef).
- If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
- Remove the patties from heat and let them rest while preparing the salad.
- In a large salad bowl, add the mixed salad greens.
- Add halved cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, shredded cheddar cheese, thinly sliced red onion, and sliced avocado. Toss gently.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Place a generous portion of the salad mixture in the center of each serving bowl.
- Top with a cooked beef patty.
- Arrange sliced pickles around the patty.
- Drizzle the dressing over the salad and patty, or serve on the side.
- Garnish with additional avocado slices or extra cheese if desired.
Notes
- Customize your burger bowl with additional toppings like crispy bacon, jalapeños, or sautéed mushrooms.
- This dish is best served immediately while the patties are warm.
