- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
- 4 large scoops vanilla ice cream (or chocolate)
- 1 cup whole milk (or any milk)
- 4–6 Chocolate Cookies (homemade or store-bought)
- Optional: Chocolate syrup, whipped cream, extra chocolate chips for garnish
Instructions
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes with an electric mixer).
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add Dry to Wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in Chocolate Chips: Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Chill Dough: Cover and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours).
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop and Bake: Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake: Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
- Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare Blender: Ensure your blender is clean.
- Add Ice Cream: Add the vanilla ice cream to the blender.
- Add Milk: Pour in the milk.
- Add Cookies: Add 4-6 chocolate cookies to the blender. Break the cookies into smaller pieces before adding them to the blender to help them blend more easily.
- Blend: Blend until smooth.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste the milkshake and adjust the ingredients as needed.
- Pour and Garnish: Pour the milkshake into a tall glass. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and extra chocolate chips, if desired.
- Serve Immediately: Serve immediately and enjoy!
