Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 count) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (for serving)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Fresh fruit (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: Open the can of cinnamon rolls and unroll each one. Flatten them slightly using your hands or a rolling pin to create a thinner surface.
- Make the Egg Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Sprinkle Cinnamon-Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the flattened cinnamon rolls.
- Roll the Cinnamon Rolls: Starting from one end, carefully roll each cinnamon roll into a tight cylinder. Make sure they are secure but not too tight.
- Coat with Egg Mixture: Dip each rolled cinnamon roll into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Cook the Roll-Ups: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add butter to the pan and let it melt. Place the egg-coated roll-ups into the pan, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove from the pan and place on a serving plate. Drizzle with maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and garnish with fresh fruit if desired.
Notes
- You can use store-bought cinnamon rolls, or make your own if you prefer.
- For a dairy-free version, use almond milk and plant-based butter.
- Try adding a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for extra flavor.
- These roll-ups can be served with a side of yogurt or scrambled eggs to make a full meal.
