  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Indulge in a creamy Coffee Panna Cotta, a delightful Italian dessert that beautifully blends rich coffee and vanilla flavors. This elegant treat is easy to make and perfect for impressing guests, offering a smooth texture and a touch of sophistication. Enjoy it chilled, garnished with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for an extra special touch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir gently until the sugar has completely dissolved (about 3-5 minutes). Avoid boiling.
  2. Add the instant coffee granules to the cream mixture and stir until fully dissolved and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  4. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the saucepan to low heat and add the bloomed gelatin, stirring continuously until completely dissolved (about 2-3 minutes). Do not boil.
  6. Let the mixture cool for 10-15 minutes to prevent condensation when pouring into molds.
  7. Prepare your serving molds (ramekins, glasses, or a large mold). Lightly grease if using glass or ceramic.
  8. Pour the mixture into the molds, filling each about 3/4 full.
  9. Cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until set.
  10. To unmold, run a small knife around the edge. Dip the bottom of the mold in warm water for 10 seconds.
  11. Place a serving plate over the mold and invert quickly. Gently lift the mold off.
  12. Garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder if desired.
  13. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider incorporating coffee liqueur or flavored syrups into the cream mixture.
  • This panna cotta pairs beautifully with espresso or whipped cream for an extra indulgent experience.
