  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 140 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing homemade iced green tea that combines high-quality green tea with a hint of sweetness and fresh lemon juice, perfect for quenching your thirst on a hot day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of water
  • 4 green tea bags (preferably high-quality)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice (about 12 lemons)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Additional lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized pot.
  2. Remove the pot from heat and add the 4 green tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, being careful not to over-steep.
  3. Carefully take out the tea bags, pressing them against the pot’s side to extract any remaining liquid.
  4. While the tea is warm, stir in 1/2 cup of sugar until completely dissolved. Adjust sweetness to your preference.
  5. Pour in 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice for a zesty flavor.
  6. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature (about 30 minutes) or refrigerate to speed up the process.
  7. Transfer the cooled tea to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
  8. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
  9. Pour the chilled green tea over the ice-filled glasses.
  10. Add fresh mint leaves and lemon slices for an extra touch (optional).
  11. Stir and enjoy your refreshing iced green tea!

  • Infuse with fruits like strawberries or peaches for added flavor.
