- 4 cups of water
- 4 green tea bags (preferably high-quality)
- 1/2 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice (about 1–2 lemons)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
- Additional lemon slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized pot.
- Remove the pot from heat and add the 4 green tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, being careful not to over-steep.
- Carefully take out the tea bags, pressing them against the pot’s side to extract any remaining liquid.
- While the tea is warm, stir in 1/2 cup of sugar until completely dissolved. Adjust sweetness to your preference.
- Pour in 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice for a zesty flavor.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature (about 30 minutes) or refrigerate to speed up the process.
- Transfer the cooled tea to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
- Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the chilled green tea over the ice-filled glasses.
- Add fresh mint leaves and lemon slices for an extra touch (optional).
- Stir and enjoy your refreshing iced green tea!
