  • Yield: 6-8 glasses 1x

Description

This Cranberry Orange Vodka Slush combines tart cranberry and sweet orange flavors with a refreshing vodka kick, making it a perfect drink for summer gatherings or festive occasions. Easy to prepare and visually appealing, it’s sure to impress your guests!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh cranberries and orange slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves (about 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  2. In a large mixing bowl or pitcher, combine 4 cups of cranberry juice, 1 cup of orange juice, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir well to mix evenly.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of vodka into the juice mixture and stir to combine thoroughly.
  4. Once the simple syrup has cooled, add it to the juice and vodka mixture. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
  5. Pour the combined mixture into a large, freezer-safe container, leaving some space at the top for expansion.
  6. Place the container in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 6 hours, or until completely solid.
  7. Once frozen, take the mixture out of the freezer and use a fork to scrape the surface, breaking it up into a slushy consistency.
  8. Using a ladle or large spoon, scoop the slush into individual serving glasses, filling them about three-quarters full.
  9. For an extra special touch, add fresh cranberries and a slice of orange on top of each glass.
  10. Enjoy your refreshing slush right after preparation with a straw or spoon!

Notes

  • Adjust Sweetness: Feel free to add more sugar to the simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter slush.
  • Experiment with Flavors: Mix in other fruit juices like pineapple or pomegranate for a unique twist.
  • Make it a Mocktail: Omit the vodka and replace it with sparkling water or soda for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in the freezer; just remember to scrape it again before serving.
  • Pairing Suggestions: This slush pairs well with light appetizers, seafood dishes, or summer barbecues.
