Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cranberry juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup vodka
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh cranberries and orange slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves (about 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
- In a large mixing bowl or pitcher, combine 4 cups of cranberry juice, 1 cup of orange juice, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir well to mix evenly.
- Pour in 1 cup of vodka into the juice mixture and stir to combine thoroughly.
- Once the simple syrup has cooled, add it to the juice and vodka mixture. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
- Pour the combined mixture into a large, freezer-safe container, leaving some space at the top for expansion.
- Place the container in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 6 hours, or until completely solid.
- Once frozen, take the mixture out of the freezer and use a fork to scrape the surface, breaking it up into a slushy consistency.
- Using a ladle or large spoon, scoop the slush into individual serving glasses, filling them about three-quarters full.
- For an extra special touch, add fresh cranberries and a slice of orange on top of each glass.
- Enjoy your refreshing slush right after preparation with a straw or spoon!
Notes
- Adjust Sweetness: Feel free to add more sugar to the simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter slush.
- Experiment with Flavors: Mix in other fruit juices like pineapple or pomegranate for a unique twist.
- Make it a Mocktail: Omit the vodka and replace it with sparkling water or soda for a non-alcoholic version.
- Storage: Leftovers can be stored in the freezer; just remember to scrape it again before serving.
