  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Frozen Margarita made with fresh lime juice, tequila, and triple sec, blended to a slushy perfection. Perfect for summer gatherings, this cocktail can be garnished with lime wedges and mint for an extra touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of ice
  • 1 cup of fresh lime juice (about 810 limes)
  • 1/2 cup of triple sec (orange liqueur)
  • 1 cup of tequila (preferably silver or blanco)
  • 1/4 cup of simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Salt for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roll the limes on a countertop to soften them, then cut in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or fork until you have 1 cup of fresh lime juice.
  2. Combine equal parts sugar and water (1/4 cup each) in a small saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let cool before using.
  3. Prepare a high-speed blender, measuring cup, and jigger for accurate measurements.
  4. In the blender, combine 2 cups of ice, 1 cup of fresh lime juice, 1/2 cup of triple sec, 1 cup of tequila, and 1/4 cup of simple syrup (if desired).
  5. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until smooth and slushy. If too thick, add more lime juice or a splash of water.
  6. Taste the margarita and adjust sweetness with more simple syrup if needed, then blend again briefly.
  7. For a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and dip into salt.
  8. Pour the blended margarita into the prepared glasses, filling them generously.
  9. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and optional fresh mint leaves.
  10. Serve immediately with a straw or cocktail stirrer for a refreshing drink experience.

Notes

  • Fruit Variations: Add 1 cup of fresh fruit like strawberries or mangoes for a fruity twist.
  • Spicy Margarita: Add jalapeño slices for a spicy kick.
  • Make it a Pitcher: Scale the recipe for larger gatherings by multiplying the ingredients.
  • Storage: Leftover margarita mix can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 days; stir before serving.
  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Omit tequila and triple sec for a refreshing mocktail.
