Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper in a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the honey and let it bubble slightly. Add soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- In a large skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden. Flip the shrimp and pour the garlic honey sauce over them. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until fully cooked and coated in sauce.
- Taste the shrimp and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more honey for sweetness or soy sauce for saltiness.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the shrimp sit for a minute to absorb the sauce. Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with chopped parsley.
