  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12-16 pinwheels 1x

Description

Savory Italian pinwheels filled with cream cheese, ham, pepperoni, olives, and peppers, baked to golden perfection and brushed with garlic butter. A perfect appetizer or snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup chopped black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and mayonnaise. Stir in Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add chopped ham, pepperoni, black olives, and green bell pepper. Mix well.
  2. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Prepare the Dough: Unroll pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Stretch to approximately 12×16 inches if needed.
  4. Assemble Pinwheels: Spread cream cheese filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border on one long edge. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  5. Roll and Slice: Starting from the opposite long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Pinch the edge to seal. Slice into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
  6. Bake: Place pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Garlic Butter: While pinwheels bake, melt butter and stir in garlic salt.
  8. Finish: Brush baked pinwheels immediately with garlic butter. Let cool slightly before serving.

  • Cheese Variations: Experiment with provolone, or a blend of Italian cheeses.
  • Meat Variations: Use salami, prosciutto, or cooked sausage.

  • Spice it Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for heat.
  • Dipping Sauce: Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake. Add a few extra minutes to baking time.
