  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A vibrant and refreshing Mango Margarita made with fresh mango puree, tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice. Perfect for parties or a relaxing evening!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup tequila blanco (silver tequila)
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar (or simple syrup, adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Coarse salt or sugar, for rimming the glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mango Puree: Peel and cube the mangoes. Blend in a blender or food processor until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for an ultra-smooth puree (optional). Taste and adjust sweetness with agave nectar or simple syrup if needed.
  2. Prepare Glasses (Optional): If desired, rim glasses with salt or sugar. Pour salt or sugar onto a small plate. Moisten the rim of each glass with a lime wedge. Gently press the rim of the glass into the salt or sugar, rotating until evenly coated.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the mango puree, tequila blanco, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave nectar.
  4. Add Ice: Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  5. Shake: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  6. Strain: Strain the margarita into prepared glasses filled with fresh ice.
  7. Garnish: Garnish with lime wedges. Optional garnishes include a mango slice or a sprig of mint.
  8. Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Spicy Mango Margarita: Add a few slices of jalapeño to the cocktail shaker.
  • Frozen Mango Margarita: Blend all ingredients with ice in a blender until smooth.
  • Mango Margarita Mocktail: Substitute tequila with sparkling water or club soda. Add a splash of orange juice.
  • Tequila: Tequila reposado can be used for a slightly more complex flavor.
  • Sweetness: Adjust agave nectar or simple syrup to taste.
  • Rim Variations: Try Tajin seasoning for a spicy and tangy twist.
  • Make Ahead: Mango puree can be made up to 2 days in advance. Store in the refrigerator.
  • Mango Varieties: Ataulfo (Honey Mango) are recommended.
