Enjoy these soft and chewy Nutella-stuffed cookies, featuring a buttery base and a creamy hazelnut surprise. Perfect for sharing or indulging on your own, these cookies are a chocolate lover’s dream!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup Nutella (or any hazelnut spread)

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for added richness.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  7. While the dough chills, scoop about 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, repeating until you have 12-15 dollops. Freeze for about 15 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough, roll into a ball, and flatten slightly.
  10. Place a frozen Nutella dollop in the center of the flattened dough, fold the edges over, and pinch to seal.
  11. Arrange the stuffed dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft.
  13. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  14. Once cooled, enjoy the deliciously gooey Nutella-filled cookies!

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the butter is softened but not melted.
