  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package of vanilla wafer cookies
  • 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Vanilla Pudding:

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the vanilla pudding mix and milk according to the package instructions.

2. Cook the pudding over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.

3. Once thickened, remove the pudding from heat and let it cool completely in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Peanut Butter Cream:

1. In a mixing bowl, beat the creamy peanut butter until smooth.

2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

3. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the whipped cream while continuing to beat.

4. Gently fold the whipped cream mixture into the peanut butter until well combined. This will be your peanut butter cream layer.

Assemble the Trifle:

1. In a trifle dish or a large glass bowl, start by layering vanilla wafer cookies at the bottom.

2. Top the cookies with a layer of sliced bananas.

3. Spread a layer of the peanut butter cream over the bananas.

4. Add a layer of the prepared vanilla pudding on top of the peanut butter cream.

5. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with a layer of the peanut butter cream on top.

Chill and Serve:

1. Cover the trifle dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.

2. Before serving, sprinkle the chopped peanuts on top for added crunch and garnish.

3. Serve the peanut butter banana trifle chilled and enjoy!
