Ingredients
- 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 loaf of French bread
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
Prepare the Cheesesteak Filling:
1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
4. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion to the skillet and sauté until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
5. Return the cooked steak to the skillet and mix everything together. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the Cheesy Bread:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and dried oregano.
4. Spread the mayonnaise mixture evenly on both halves of the French bread.
5. Sprinkle half of the shredded provolone cheese over one half of the bread.
6. Spread the prepared cheesesteak filling over the cheese.
7. Sprinkle the remaining provolone cheese over the cheesesteak filling.
8. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
9. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
10. Remove the cheesy bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
11. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for garnish.
12. Cut the cheesy bread into slices and serve hot.
