Easy to prepare, this slushie is a great way to cool down and enjoy a burst of fruity flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (or canned pineapple, drained)
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1/2 cup coconut water (or regular water)
- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust based on sweetness preference)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional, for added tang)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Remove the green tops and slice them into halves or quarters.
- If using fresh pineapple, cut it into chunks. If using canned pineapple, drain it well.
- For an extra frosty texture, freeze the pineapple and strawberries for about an hour before blending.
- In a blender, add the frozen pineapple chunks followed by the fresh strawberries.
- Pour in the coconut water (or regular water).
- Add the honey or agave syrup, adjusting based on your sweetness preference.
- Squeeze in the fresh lime juice if desired.
- Toss in the ice cubes, adjusting the amount based on your preferred slushy consistency.
- Secure the lid and blend on high speed until smooth, about 30 seconds to a minute. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
- Taste the slushie. If too thick, add more coconut water or regular water and blend again.
- If not sweet enough, add more honey or agave syrup and blend again.
- Once satisfied with the flavor and texture, its time to serve!
- Use clear glasses to showcase the vibrant colors of the slushies.
- Pour the slushie mixture into each glass, filling them about three-quarters full.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and/or a slice of fresh pineapple or strawberry on the rim.
- Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, and enjoy!
- If you have any slushie left over, store it in an airtight container in the freezer. When ready to enjoy, blend again to restore the slushy texture.
