Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Dredge each pork chop in flour, ensuring they are evenly coated. Shake off excess flour and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the floured pork chops.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F/63°C). Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent and slightly caramelized.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently.
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze.
- Stir in heavy cream, dried thyme, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and allow to thicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the gravy. Spoon gravy over the chops.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Transfer pork chops to a serving platter and pour remaining gravy over them.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot with sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate pork chops in garlic, herbs, and olive oil before cooking.
- Add mushrooms or bell peppers to the onion and garlic mixture for extra texture.
- For thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir into the gravy during simmering.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
