  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte that blends the sweetness of fresh strawberries with the earthy flavor of matcha. Perfect for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon delight, this versatile drink can be served hot or iced, making it a delightful treat any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, etc.)
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup hot water (not boiling)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for iced version)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and honey (or maple syrup). Adjust the sweetener to your preference.
  2. Blend on high speed until smooth. If too thick, add a splash of water to help blend.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, then set aside the puree. Store in the fridge if not using immediately.
  4. In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder using a fine mesh sieve to avoid clumps.
  5. Pour in the hot water (ideally around 175°F or 80°C).
  6. Whisk the matcha and water together in a zigzag motion until frothy and well combined. Use a bamboo whisk, milk frother, or small electric blender.
  7. Set the prepared matcha aside to cool if making an iced version.
  8. In a glass, add a few tablespoons of the strawberry puree at the bottom.
  9. For an iced version, fill the glass with ice cubes until halfway full.
  10. Pour the milk of your choice over the strawberry puree.
  11. Gently pour the prepared matcha over the milk for a layered effect or stir for a blended look.
  12. Optionally, top with whipped cream for an indulgent treat.
  13. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or strawberry slices for a pop of color.
  14. Stir gently before enjoying!

Notes

  • Use high-quality matcha powder for the best flavor; ceremonial grade is ideal.
  • Ripe, fresh strawberries yield the best flavor; frozen can be used in a pinch.
  • Adjust sweetness to your liking; experiment with different sweeteners if desired.
  • Almond or oat milk are recommended for a creamy texture.
