Description
Creamy Strawberry Shortcake Martini: vanilla vodka, crème de cacao, strawberry liqueur, and fresh strawberry puree blend for a dessert-like cocktail.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ ounces vanilla vodka
- 1 ounce white crème de cacao
- ½ ounce strawberry liqueur
- 1 ounce fresh strawberry puree (about 6–8 strawberries, hulled and pureed)
- ½ ounce heavy cream
- ¼ ounce simple syrup (or to taste, depending on the sweetness of your strawberries)
- Ice
- Garnish: Fresh strawberry, sliced
- Garnish: Graham cracker crumbs (for rimming the glass, optional)
- Garnish: Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Pour a thin layer of simple syrup or honey into a shallow dish.
- Crush about 4-5 graham crackers into fine crumbs and pour into another shallow dish.
- Dip the rim of your martini glass into the simple syrup or honey, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Immediately dip the syrup-coated rim into the graham cracker crumbs, rotating the glass until the rim is completely covered.
- Place the rimmed glass in the freezer for a few minutes to help the crumbs adhere better.
- Wash about 6-8 fresh strawberries and remove the green hulls.
- Place the hulled strawberries in a blender or food processor.
- Blend until the strawberries are completely smooth and liquefied.
- If you prefer a smoother puree, you can strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds.
- Taste the puree. If your strawberries are particularly tart, you might want to add a tiny bit of simple syrup to sweeten it up.
- Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
- Pour in 1 ½ ounces of vanilla vodka.
- Add 1 ounce of white crème de cacao.
- Pour in ½ ounce of strawberry liqueur.
- Add 1 ounce of the fresh strawberry puree you just made.
- Pour in ½ ounce of heavy cream.
- Add ¼ ounce of simple syrup. Adjust this to taste depending on the sweetness of your strawberries and your personal preference.
- Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
- Carefully strain the martini into the glass to avoid disturbing the rim. I recommend double straining (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh sieve) to remove any ice shards or strawberry seeds, resulting in a smoother martini.
- Slice a fresh strawberry and place it on the rim of the glass.
- If you’re feeling extra indulgent, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the martini.
- Serve your Strawberry Shortcake Martini immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Use frozen strawberries if fresh are out of season (thaw first).
- Substitute regular vodka with a few drops of vanilla extract if you don’t have vanilla vodka.
- Make it non-alcoholic by substituting vanilla vodka with vanilla syrup or extract and omitting the strawberry liqueur (or replacing with strawberry syrup).
- A splash of lemon juice can brighten the flavors.
- Experiment with different liqueurs like amaretto or Frangelico.
- Adjust simple syrup to taste.
- Infuse vodka with strawberries for a more intense flavor.
- Make martini popsicles by freezing the mixture in molds.
