Strawberry Shortcake Martini: The Ultimate Dessert Cocktail Recipe

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

Creamy Strawberry Shortcake Martini: vanilla vodka, crème de cacao, strawberry liqueur, and fresh strawberry puree blend for a dessert-like cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ ounces vanilla vodka
  • 1 ounce white crème de cacao
  • ½ ounce strawberry liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh strawberry puree (about 68 strawberries, hulled and pureed)
  • ½ ounce heavy cream
  • ¼ ounce simple syrup (or to taste, depending on the sweetness of your strawberries)
  • Ice
  • Garnish: Fresh strawberry, sliced
  • Garnish: Graham cracker crumbs (for rimming the glass, optional)
  • Garnish: Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour a thin layer of simple syrup or honey into a shallow dish.
  2. Crush about 4-5 graham crackers into fine crumbs and pour into another shallow dish.
  3. Dip the rim of your martini glass into the simple syrup or honey, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Immediately dip the syrup-coated rim into the graham cracker crumbs, rotating the glass until the rim is completely covered.
  5. Place the rimmed glass in the freezer for a few minutes to help the crumbs adhere better.
  6. Wash about 6-8 fresh strawberries and remove the green hulls.
  7. Place the hulled strawberries in a blender or food processor.
  8. Blend until the strawberries are completely smooth and liquefied.
  9. If you prefer a smoother puree, you can strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds.
  10. Taste the puree. If your strawberries are particularly tart, you might want to add a tiny bit of simple syrup to sweeten it up.
  11. Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
  12. Pour in 1 ½ ounces of vanilla vodka.
  13. Add 1 ounce of white crème de cacao.
  14. Pour in ½ ounce of strawberry liqueur.
  15. Add 1 ounce of the fresh strawberry puree you just made.
  16. Pour in ½ ounce of heavy cream.
  17. Add ¼ ounce of simple syrup. Adjust this to taste depending on the sweetness of your strawberries and your personal preference.
  18. Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
  19. Carefully strain the martini into the glass to avoid disturbing the rim. I recommend double straining (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh sieve) to remove any ice shards or strawberry seeds, resulting in a smoother martini.
  20. Slice a fresh strawberry and place it on the rim of the glass.
  21. If you’re feeling extra indulgent, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the martini.
  22. Serve your Strawberry Shortcake Martini immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use frozen strawberries if fresh are out of season (thaw first).
  • Substitute regular vodka with a few drops of vanilla extract if you don’t have vanilla vodka.
  • Make it non-alcoholic by substituting vanilla vodka with vanilla syrup or extract and omitting the strawberry liqueur (or replacing with strawberry syrup).
  • A splash of lemon juice can brighten the flavors.
  • Experiment with different liqueurs like amaretto or Frangelico.
  • Adjust simple syrup to taste.
  • Infuse vodka with strawberries for a more intense flavor.
  • Make martini popsicles by freezing the mixture in molds.
