Refreshingly sweet and hydrating, this homemade watermelon juice is the perfect summer drink. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious beverage that’s not only tasty but also packed with health benefits. Enjoy it chilled, garnished with fresh mint, or get creative by adding fruits or spices for a unique twist!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium-sized ripe watermelon (about 56 pounds)
  • 12 tablespoons of fresh lime juice (optional)
  • 12 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Select a ripe watermelon that feels heavy for its size and has a smooth, blemish-free skin.
  2. Wash the watermelon under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.
  3. Cut the watermelon in half lengthwise on a cutting board.
  4. Cut one half into smaller wedges and scoop out the flesh using a spoon or melon baller. Repeat with the other half.
  5. Place the scooped watermelon flesh into a large bowl, yielding about 4-5 cups of watermelon cubes.
  6. Transfer the watermelon cubes into a blender. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until smooth.
  7. If desired, strain the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher for a smoother juice.
  8. Add 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice for tanginess and honey or agave syrup for sweetness, blending briefly to combine.
  9. Serve immediately over ice cubes in glasses or chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
  10. Pour the chilled juice into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  11. Enjoy your refreshing watermelon juice!
  12. Store leftover watermelon juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
  13. Freeze juice in ice cube trays for later use in smoothies or to chill other beverages.
  14. Get creative with your watermelon juice by adding half a peeled cucumber for a refreshing twist.
  15. Add a cup of strawberries or blueberries for added flavor.
  16. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or jalapeño slices for a spicy kick.
  17. Add coconut water for a tropical flavor.
